BiblioWorks inaugurated its second library in the colonial town of Presto in January 2006. The region enjoys a warm, subtropical climate, and the majority of its population works in agriculture. The library was opened in partnership with the local Municipality. Although Presto is one of the most poverty-stricken towns of Bolivia, the library occupies a large building on the central plaza.
While other libraries may be more popular with elementary-school children, Biblioteca 14 de Enero is usually full of high school students. They formed a library chess club, and in 2012 they proudly represented Presto at a national competition.
