Incahuasi is located in the southern part of the department of Chuquisaca. It is a beautiful (but rural) area with a population of about 15,000, spread over many km, and is mainly known for its production of vegetables and livestock breeding.

The Municipal Library is located in the city center, and was built in conjunction with the Municipal Government of Incahuasi and Biblioworks. It plays an important role in supporting education for the children and adolescents of Incahuasi, many of whom live at boarding schools in the city center as there are no secondary schools in their home villages, which are sometimes located up to 6 hours away.

Donate

  • $25 will provide board games and activities
  • $50 will provide books to more than 50 children
  • $100 will provide more tables and chairs for the library

Volunteer in Incahuasi

Incahuasi has a full-time librarian to keep the library open every weekday, however we are looking for dedicated volunteers to help implement programs for the children. Create a reading club with the students, teach English, or propose your own idea to encourage literacy!
