Tomina library opening, two weeks away!

WE ARE 2 WEEKS AWAY FROM OPENING OUR TOMINA LIBRARY!

Thank you to all of our committed readers and especially to those of you who have supported us over the past couple months to make the Tomina Library a reality.  Our staff in Bolivia has been working diligently with the local government and schools in the town of Tomina, and we are very excited to announce that the library will officially open on February 14th, 2011!  On this day, BiblioWorks will be hosting a big opening party and inviting the entire town, including government officials, teachers, families and children, to visit their new library for the first time.

We have all worked overtime to raise money for the 1,000 books, newly constructed tables and chairs, educational games, maps and posters for our newest library. Even the mayor’s office in Tomina purchased 4 computers, more books, games and other necessary materials so that the library will be a beautiful place for the community to use.

WE REALIZE THAT THIS IS SHORT NOTICE, BUT CAN YOU PLEASE HELP US RAISE THE LAST FUNDS WE NEED BEFORE FEBRUARY 14TH?!

We only need $600 before February 14th to buy these last minute items:

1.      Last expenses to pay the carpenter for our newly constructed tables & chairs

2.      A dedication plaque and sign for the library

3.      Curtains, paint and brushes to put the last touches on our windows

4.      THE OPENING PARTY!!

Again, we send our heartfelt thanks for your donations so far.  We could not have gotten this far without you!  Any size donation will be greatly appreciated to put towards the final push to open the library in Tomina.

PLEASE CONSIDER A DONATION TO HELP US RAISE $600 BEFORE FEBRUARY 14TH.

Thank you so much,
