Fundraising success for BiblioWorks’ 12th library

BiblioWorks would like to say an enormous thank you to all of our supporters both here in Bolivia and worldwide who Villa Abecia - BiblioWorks' 12th libraryhave been instrumental in helping us to fund raise for our newest library in Villa Abecia, which will become our 12th that we have established in rural Bolivia.

Generous donors from around the world enabled us to surpass our initial target of $1000 and instead hit the incredible amount of $1305. The money raised will go towards using dynamic workshops to train library staff, as well as equipping the library with educational resources, including books and games for children and their families to use. We hope that these funds can go a long way towards making the library an exciting and valuable community centre for generations of local people to come. We also aim in the future to send our volunteers to the library to help establish and run reading clubs and other exciting projects which will bring literacy and reading to the community.

Thank you to all who have helped to make this new library a reality. We would like to make a personal thank you to two very generous donors who gave $100 towards the campaign:

Stevie Ross

Zannah Pierce

In December, we are excited to be inaugurating the library, and are delighted to be able to see the fruits of the hard work of the community of Villa Abecia, the local authorities, and our donors, without whom none of this would be possible.
