Tomoroco, located in the Presto municipality, is famous for its chirimoya, a large, juicy fruit that grows in this region. Although it enjoys a temperate climate, it is one of the most impoverished regions of Bolivia.
The Biblioteca Escolar de Tomoroco was opened in collaboration with the Bolivian gas company YPFB Transporte and the municipality of Presto. In 2013, Biblioworks helped the community to create a playground for the children that was made from recycled materials. The entire community and more than 20 volunteers worked setting up the playground.
