Biblioteca San Pablo
Inaugurated April 2008
BiblioWorks’ 6th library
5 hours from Sucre
BiblioWorks inaugurated its sixth library in the town of Sopachuy in April 2008. Sopachuy is a small agricultural community set in a lush, green region between two rivers, and much of the population speaks only Quechua.
Biblioteca San Pablo enjoys a high attendance rate and positive relationships with the local school, although it is a municipal library. Children squeeze into the library before or after their school day, and teachers ensure that their pupils make use of the library’s resources.
Donate! Your donations at work in Sopachuy:
- $25 will fund a literacy festival for local teachers
- $50 will increase the selection of educational games
- $100 will go toward the purchase of a new computer for the Sopachuy librarian
