BiblioWorks inaugurated its twelfth library in Villa Abecia in December, 2014. The region is one of the poorest in the country, 29.7% of the population is illiterate and only 32.6% of the citizens have a high school diploma*.

The library was moved to a new building in March 2016. Showing the support of the local authorities and their commitment to improve literacy and education.

 

Get Involved!

Donate

  • $25 will provide school supplies for 10 students and fight illiteracy.
  • $50 will provide textbooks for the students to do homework.
  • $100 will go toward the purchase of a new computer for library patrons.

Volunteer in Villa Abecia

Propose your own idea to encourage literacy, create a reading club with the students or teach English to the locals.
